“There is a necessity for an intellectual debate among the intellectual class of the Baloch society, so that we can preserve and reform our society from various socially harmful complexities, moral corruption, ignorance, and decadence. “

(Chairman Uzair Baloch)

Baloch Students Action Committee held its 2nd Central Committee meeting under the chairmanship of Uzair Baloch. The meeting continued with the agendas of previous reports, critique session, organisational affairs, briefing reports on zones, regional and international political affairs and future policies.

The first agenda of the three-day meeting was, the presentation of reports, during which the Secretary General report, various committee reports and briefing reports were presented before the meeting. After a detailed discussions on these reports, the first agenda was concluded. The second agenda of the meeting was the critique session in which the central body presented their critical drafts on the organisation’s progress and policies and critically reviewed zonal performances one by one.
Central body, in the critique session, argued that criticism is a continuous scientific approach which is not bounded to mere pointing out the weaknesses of an organisation but it is to strengthen it ideologically and consciously, resulting in the generation of constructive ideas and policies. Through criticism, organisations evolve to continue with new approaches and practice constructive ideas, practices, and generate progressive policies. The approach of criticism does not merely identifies the vulnerabilities within the organisation but diagnoses its core reasons and provides constructive ideas which further solidify the organisation ideologically.
The absence of criticism and self-criticism stagnates organisations, which triggers the erasure of the developmental process, creativity, thoughts and consciousness from the very foundations of the structure. Therefore, we see that the organisations lacking in the culture of criticism exist in the pages only. Hence, it is essential for our members at every level of hierarchy from centre to units, to promote constructive criticism, in order to root out the thoughts and set of minds that act against the ideological and political development of the organisation.

Chairman Uzair Baloch in the meeting stated that in the existing realities, the Baloch society is suffering from various complexities including moral corruption, societal evils, decadence within the educated class, academic decay, and other systemic dichotomies. Such given conditions are disintegrating the Baloch societal structure. Instead of addressing such crises, the scholarly class of Baloch society seeks to escape from these drastic complexities and dichotomies which poses a critical threat to our societal development. In this regard, it is our collective responsibility to cultivate an intellectual debate and construct ideas to preserve our society from regressive thoughts and threatening conditions within our social fabric, resulting in fostering a harmonious society.
Chairman further maintained that the youth are considered as the vanguard for resolving every contradiction within the society. Throughout the history, the youth have contributed to the evolution of their societies and served as the custodian of society. The youth, who strive for their nation with devotion, are the symbol of a vanguard. Likewise, the Baloch youth are also driven by the national consciousness to contribute to the betterment of their society with innovative ideas and pragmatic approaches. However, our youth is gripped with various moral decays and are lacking essential qualities. As a direct result, we are damaging the core of our social fabric with our own actions. For this reason, our youth must not only comprehend their potential but must also consciously enlighten their surroundings to reject corrupt practices and decadence. Through courage and determination, the Baloch youth must actively contribute to resolving every societal issues with knowledge and practice.

Additionally, in the agenda of organisational affairs, the central body discussed several activities and proposed various new policies. The body emphasised that currently, the Baloch society is in such a critical point that our political initiatives and policies will, indubitably, determine the evolution of our future intellectual and political consciousness within the Baloch nation. Frequently, the youth are paralysed by the illusion that conditions are not favourable; yet history bears witness that every conscious nation has faced such critical circumstances but they refused to yield, instead struggled with determination and achieved their ultimate objectives. It isn’t a new phenomenon nor is it limited to our realities; it is a very reality in every societal system which is experiencing structural contradictions in its own way. What truly matters, however, is how we perceive such situations and how we can transform that into action. Students are confronted with multifaceted challenges but it is the sense of duty and consciousness that makes them continue with effort. Baloch students are also inherently capable with such qualities but they have to continue on their path with farsightedness. Consequently, Baloch students must refine their studies, thoughts and actions through discipline. Alongside addressing educational crises, they must actively contribute to the intelligentsia, political, cultural and literaty spheres, thereby cultivating a capable generation for the nation.

On the third day of the meeting, discussions began with the fourth agenda which was regional and international political affairs. During this session, central body engaged in a detailed debate on current political affairs, subsequently, the agenda concluded with the permission of the chairman.

The three-day session concluded with the adoption of several progressive policies designed to enhance the student politics and organisation’s capacity within the Baloch society.
