The target killing of Allah Dad Baloch: An attack on Baloch intellect community

On the night of February 4, 2025, some armed individuals (State backed) targeted and killed Allah Dad Baloch at his home in Balochistan’s Kech, Turbat. Allah Dad was an M.Phil. scholar graduate from Quaid e Azam University Islamabad. In Turbat, Dad was providing his scholarly services to the people of his native land. The murder of Dad is not an isolated one however the long lasting policy of this State’s repressive political opportunity structure, as Baloch bearing it for decades and is still continued with more such like.
Dad’s case neither a new one nor the end, but will go further so on and so forth without any pause. As, the world witnessed the brutal killing of Hayat Baloch back in 2020, additionally Rauf Baloch a private school teacher was shot dead in the same Turbat in 2023, not staying here Balach Mola Bux who was a academy teacher was taken into detention then killed now Dad’s case. This is an attack on the humanity additionally on the intellect class of the Baloch society which leads to destruction of societies. The fact that Baloch as a nation, with enough resources, is skilled in various fields and areas, however faces the scarce material resources, as being snatched away from it. Indeed, Baloch is working hard with its outmost struggle to acquire skills and intellect not otherwise than education and study lead to knowledge.
The intellect class is being targeted through preplanned tactics aimed to eliminate the Baloch thinkers and know-how persons so the Baloch society may not grow in anyway whatsoever. The cream of this nation has been the prime target, the one who thinks freely and critically questions the authorities will be subjected to forcibly disappearance or brutally killed by the armed assailants (notorious as death squads). Such cases have created a very disturbing situation in Balochistan where every student and other skilful lives in a chaos to be victimized one day by the state.
We believe that such targets of our educated and skilled ones is an attempt of eliminating our intellect class, which requires more than denouncing. The intellect class of the Baloch society must come forward unconditionally and denounce this act and unequivocally resist these brutalities.
Taking it further, we have serious concerns on the lives of students, teachers and other intellect class to be harmed by these state backed armed men. We unanimously denounce the brutal murder of Allah Dad additionally call for an urgent and effective action against this crime against Baloch and consider it as the severity of oppression within the Baloch nation which is unacceptable at all. In the end, we call upon all the concerned human rights organizations and personals to intercede in such acts of atrocities being inflicted upon the Baloch and the intellect community.
