On the second day of sit-in protest at University of Balochistan, protests were held in Turbat and Quetta against the enforced disappearance of Sohail and Fassieh Baloch on Wednesday.
The protest in Turbat started from Attah Shad degree college and walking throughout Turbat city ending at Fida Chowk. There was a huge participation of students and people from various social belongings. During the protest, participants addressed the gathering, stating that Baloch students have been targeted to enforced disappearances for years, which is a deeply distressing act.
However, even educational institutions do not provide a secure environment for students. The responsibility for the disappearance of students from educational institutions lies with the university administration, which is involved in profiling students through various means, causing harassment and compromising their safety.
The other protest was held at University of Balochistan Quetta, the rally walked within the premises of University and ended there at sit-in camp. Students all over Quetta participate
Sohail and Fassieh Baloch were students of Balochistan University who went missing from the university hostel two years ago. To advocate for their recovery, the organization conducted a three-day protest camp and demonstration at Balochistan University, in which a large number of students, both male and female, participated. Participants in the protest expressed concern about such incidents occurring within universities, highlighting the negative impact it has on other students. They emphasized that it leads to mental health issues and disrupts their academic progress. The students present at the protest demanded the safe recovery of their missing colleagues.
