Saba, as a candle, lives immortal in the journey of enlightening the Baloch nation; however, this festival reveals that his very vision is still alive today, embodied in the Baloch youth.

The Saba Literary Festival Malir concluded successfully, comprising various segments of knowledge and enlightenment in this one-day festival held on 23rd February 2025 in Malir, one of the oldest regions of Baloch history. The Saba Literary Festival included segments such as speeches, panel discussions, the launching ceremony of the booklet Lummaii Boli (Mother Language), research papers, documentaries, stage performances, tableau, Gaam segments, and art exhibitions honoring Kamanchar Baloch. The festival was attended by the organization’s central fellows, Baloch intellectuals, teachers and professors, literary figures, and political activists who expressed their views.
The festival commenced with the Baloch Raaji Sauth and was followed by a pamphlet and a paper on Martyr Saba. Moreover, a panel discussion was held on Saba Dashtiyari, moderated by Muzeer Baloch, with panelists including Professor Ramzan Bamri, Asghar Ali Azag, and Zareef Baloch. Another panel discussion on the existing issues of Baloch people in Karachi took place, with panelists Hafeez Baloch and Zarkhan Baloch, moderated by Noor Baloch.
In the speeches, Baloch columnist and analyst Anwar Sajidi spoke on the topic Baloch Politics and the Present Era, followed by Professor Dr. Farooq Baloch, who discussed Baloch and Balochistan: A Historical Background. In addition, Azhar Baloch, Secretary General of the organization, and Uzair Baloch, Information Secretary of the organization, spoke on Baloch Students and Political Resistance and The Importance and Success of the Saba Literary Festival, respectively.
Besides these, research papers were read, including Media, Baloch, and National Responsibilities by Central Committee member Fahad Baloch, Kandeelen Saba by Rizwan Baloch, The Battle Between Rind and Lashar by Ghulam Radool Kalmati, Banul Dashtiyari by Shahtaj Baloch, and The Background of Baloch Politics in Karachi by Central Committee member Peer Jan Baloch.
Furthermore, four documentaries were presented before the audience, including Kandeelen Saba, Balochistan Kitab Karwan, Mubarak Qazi, and Drug affected Baloch. The Gaam segments included a Gaam discussion, Old and New Malir, Chaap, Gaam Presentation, Gaam Story, and Gaam Arts. Moreover, a stage performance titled “Beya O Mureed” was performed by Sur Singaar Izmi Majlis in honor of Martyr Saba Dashtiyari, and a tableau was performed to honor the brave lady Sabeen Mehmood.
An art exhibition was also part of the festival under the name Kamancher Baloch, where Baloch artists and photographers, including Mehrwan Art Academy and Hammal Salaar, along with others, organized their stalls and held a launching ceremony of their artworks. Book stalls were also set up under the banner of Balochistan Kitab Karwan and Syed Reference Library.
In the festival, Anwar Sajidi in his speech, stated that it is time to speak the truth and clarify the history, denying to compromise on national interests. He emphasized that before 2000, many Baloch leaders, in whom the people had great belief, betrayed the Baloch nation by selling out the land for mere ministerial positions, deceiving the people in the name of negotiations and democracy. He called this a significant betrayal that wasted fifty years of struggle. However, he asserted that today’s era belongs to the young generation, who have disproven the so-called politics of the past and cleared the path for the future. He claimed that the youth will not step down or surrender but will sacrifice themselves for their very own end.
Dr. Farooq Baloch in his speech, discussed the historical background of Baloch and Balochistan, highlighting how the Baloch have always defended their land and identity. He emphasized that the arts and crafts of this region are deeply rooted in Baloch culture, further proving that this land belongs to the Baloch he asserted.
During the festival, the central designation holders of the organization spoke about the aims and significance of the Saba Literary Festival, stating that its purpose is to sustain the vision and ideology of Martyr Saba Dashtiyari and to turn his dreams into reality. They asserted that this massive gathering proves that Martyr Saba is not only alive in spirit but that his vision continues unwaveringly. Furthermore, they emphasized that despite challenges, students’ political resistance remains steadfast, and they are determined to confront obstacles with courage and resilience.
A large number of people, including students and guests, attended the festival, among them Anwar Sajidi, Dr. Farooq Baloch, Asghar Ali Azag, Professor Ramzan Bamri, Zarkhan Baloch, Hafeez Baloch, Lala Wahab, Ramzan Baloch, Nisar Ahmed, Zareef Baloch, Comrade Wahid Baloch, Nasir Jamal, and the Secretary General of BSAC, Azhar Baloch, along with Information Secretary Uzair Baloch and Central Committee members Fahad Baloch and Peer Jan Baloch.
We express our gratitude to all the individual guests and institutions who attended the festival, particularly Syed Hashmi Reference Library, Master Imam Bux Library, Mehrwan Art Academy, Sur Singaar Izmi Majlis, and the artists and photographers.
All segments were successfully held one by one, and the festival concluded with a musical performance.
